The 5 golden rules to avoid cavities

Dentiste pédiatrique 93 - Les 5 règles d'or

1. Help your child brush their teeth and gums in the morning after breakfast and in the evening before going to bed with a fluoride toothpaste appropriate to their age.
The establishment of good habits of oral hygiene and food at an early age avoids in most cases the appearance of dental caries.

2. Never share your spoon, your glass and especially not your toothbrush with your child! Cavity is a contagious disease. Children are sensitive to bacteria in the mouths of adults!

3. Beware of sugary drinks, sweets and nibbles! Respect meal times and offer only water to your child between meals!

Snacking throughout the day and ingesting soda drinks (eg Coca-Cola) is often a bad diet for teenagers.

You also need to be careful about medications, including syrups, homeopathy, and asthma medications that contain a lot of sugar. Taking these medications before bedtime can cause tooth decay.

4.Say STOP to the bottle. Completely get rid of your baby's bottle or breast from the age of 12 -15 months.

Unfortunately, many children develop early caries from a very young age due to frequent and prolonged use of bottles containing natural milk, fruit juice, other sugary liquids or prolonged breastfeeding. This pathology is called the "bottle feeding syndrome".

5. Two visits a year to the Pediatric dentist, from the age of 2 years.

Nous prenons le temps à chaque visite de sensibiliser votre enfant et vous aux bonnes pratiques d'hygiène bucco-dentaire.
